What happens when your plus one becomes “the one”?
Holly Haggerty and Roth Esterly are two besties with everything in common–they’re neighbors, career-driven, and commitment-phobes. Tired of always being set up on dates by well-meaning friends and family, they take matters into their own hands: they will be the other’s plus one–a little friendly arrangement between friends.
Easy…until a steamy night where they cross the line. But that’s okay, they’ll add an addendum–one that includes a little action between the sheets…on top of the sheets…and without the sheets. But there are rules. Dating and sex are exclusive until one of them decides to terminate the agreement. No slumber parties. And if either party becomes emotionally involved they will break things off with no hard feelings.
When unexpected news changes their plans and turns their fun arrangement into something more serious, Holly and Roth must come to terms with what’s more important–what they thought they wanted, or what they really need.

This book is adorable in so many levels.
Let’s start with… how awesome and cute this book is. Really, it’s hard to describe how lovely this book is. It was fast, straightforward, fast, sweet, and just so freaking adorable. The plot was extremely predictable and this book reminded me why I hate reading blurbs.
Okay, let me tell you that story. So I was reading this book and when I reached the third page or so, there was a paragraph that I thought would be very important but halfway through, I realised it was the blurb and holy goodness, then and there, I knew everything that was going to happen. It was such a bad idea to read it and everything I thought of was confirmed when I started on the next page.
Story time over. Let’s move on to how cute this book is.
Okay, so A Friendly Arrangement is highly predictable, adorable, and just cute. So as you might have guessed from the title, this is a friends turned to something else turned to something else kinda story. But honestly, it was more like, they just started to see the wo/man in each other that they may have actually been unconsciously ignoring for the years they’ve been friends. Let me tell you one thing about this, they moved really fast. The story escalated very fast and there was nothing that happened that you couldn’t have predicted. So yes, this is very much cliché. But as we always say, you need that cliché stuff every once in a while, to remind yourself that not everything is bad and happy endings exist. Also, spoiler alert, it’s not that cliché. Yes, everything was so predictable but you know how you get caught up in all the sweetness, all the romance, all the kisses that you forget they were not.
But anyway, it’s the kind of story that just make your heart swell, you know. The family background wasn’t given much detail but you know, if it did, it would just become much more cliche than it already is. Holly and Roth are cut from the same cloth. Aside from the family background. Well, in the end, everything turned out great and happy and just lovely. The writing was great. I can’t say I found tons of quotable quotes but they’re there. Overall, I think you need a little more happiness in your life and since this book is cute, fun, adorable, and annoyingly cliche, I suggest you pick this book up and read on.
